Time logged automatically

Problem

Time is automatically logged against issues without users ever explicitly logging time to them.

When users work on or open a task, Tempo Timesheet automatically adds blocks for 25m and 15m of logged hours.

Solution

Most likely, what users are seeing is related to Jira suggestions, which are part of Tempo Automation.

Jira work items show up as suggestions (activity cards) in My Work when users:

  • Create a Jira work item.

  • Edit a Jira work item (such as changing an assignee).

  • Comment within a Jira work item.

  • Transition the Jira work item through the workflow (changing the Status).

Other Jira activities may trigger suggestions. For example, viewing “new” unassigned work items.

Tempo does provide a setting to enable or disable Jira activities for users, as outlined in our documentation here: “Enabling and Disabling Jira Suggestions in Activity Feed | Tempo Help Center”.

However, please note that if a user has set a personal preference to display Jira suggestions (via Filtering activity providers) within My Work view, that user-level setting will override the global configuration.

In such cases, the user will need to manually update their preferences in the My Work view to filter out Jira suggestions. Please see: “Filtering Your Activity Providers | Tempo Help Center
