How to connect the Issues and Request Types tables

Question

We need the “Request Type ID”  field from the “Request Types” table to be present in the “Issues” table. That would allow us to link the type of request to every issue to see how many of each type of request are being attended to.

Answer

To properly connect the "Issues" and "Request Types" tables, it is necessary to use the "Request Type ID" field. Let us be more specific:

  • The "Issues" table > the needed field can be taken from the "Jira Service Management" tab > the "Service Management Custom Fields" table:
