We have strict rules for keeping our company data safe. How exactly does the data move? Does our Jira data ever pass through or get saved on Tempo's servers? Or does it travel straight from our Jira directly to our Power BI?
Answer
The plugin works as the connector only. According to the connector's configuration, the app requests the data directly from the Jira REST API and passes it directly to your Power BI. No middleware is involved. The app doesn't have access to your data, it doesn't store or collect the data from your instance in any manner.
The Connector stores only the encrypted data of the Data Source configuration and logs in its database. Data Source configuration includes Data Source name, Data Source hash, names of the fields and tables selected, and filters applied.
The Connector uses an HTTPS (SSL-based) protocol and the AES algorithm (the CBC mode); thus, the data is encrypted during transit.
