Question
Why can’t I see the Test Plan issue key next to my Xray Tests in Power BI Connector, and how do I link Tests to their Test Plans?
Answer
The XrayTests table doesn’t hold a Test Plan key column. The link between Tests and Test Plans is stored in the XrayTestPlanTests table. It contains the Test Plan issue ID and the Test issue ID. You join it to the Issues table to get the Test Plan key.
Step 1: Select the right tables in the data source
-
In the data source, select the Issues table and make sure the Issue ID field is included.
-
Select the XrayTests and XrayTestPlanTests tables.
-
Save, export, and refresh in Power BI.
Step 2: Set up the relationships and build the table
-
Open Model view.
-
Connect the three tables with these two relationships, and make sure both are active:
-
Issues to XrayTestPlanTests:
Issues[ISSUE_ID]links toXrayTestPlanTests[XRAY_TEST_PLAN_ISSUE_ID]. -
XrayTestPlanTests to XrayTests:
XrayTestPlanTests[XRAY_TEST_ISSUE_ID]links toXrayTests[XRAY_TEST_ISSUE_ID].
-
-
Build a table visual with the Test Plan key (
ISSUE_KEY) from Issues and the Test fields from XrayTests.
