Tempo Accounts - how to connect worklogs to an Account

This article is for Tempo for Cloud and Data Center

Using the Account set on the work item:

Tempo Accounts are a way to track time across multiple teams and multiple Spaces. By connecting accounts to specific Spaces, worklogs can be connected to accounts, to provide data for reporting and bookkeeping.

To make this possible, a few steps are required:

When creating new work items in a Space, you have now the option to set an Account in the Account custom field. Only Accounts that are linked to the Space or global Accounts can be selected in the field. In case a default Account has been set for the Space, this Account will be pre-selected in the Account custom field in the Create work item screen.
All worklogs which are made on the work item will then be connected to this Account.

The value needs to be set afterwards and it is possible to bulk edit the Jira work items.

Adding the option to select another Account:

As the need may arise that you need to connect worklogs to a different Account than the one set on the work item, the option to use Account as work attribute might be helpful.
Adding a work attribute of type Account will add an additional field to the "Log Time" dialog. The Account set on the work item will be pre-selected in this field, but users have the option to select a different Account when logging their time. The Accounts available depend on the selected work item as only linked or global Accounts can be selected.
The work attribute of type Account gives the option to "override" the Account set on the work item.

Please note that when using only the Account set on the work item, all worklogs will get connected to this Account. When the Account on the work item is changed, all worklogs will get connected to the new Account that was selected.
When using the work attribute of type Account, worklogs are not affected by a change of the Account set in the Account custom field on the work item.
