Can the Tempo panel be hidden for a specific space?

Question

Can the Tempo panel be hidden on all Jira work items for a specific space (project) only? Users hide it because they don’t log time that way, but it keeps reappearing.

Answer

Tempo doesn’t currently offer a way to hide the panel for specific spaces. Here are the options that are available:

  • Control the default behavior: A Tempo Admin can disable Show Tempo in the Jira Work Item View under Tempo Settings > Configuration > Logging Time. The panel then no longer shows by default, but users can still open it from the Apps dropdown on the work item. See Configuring Logging Time Options.

  • Manually hide it in each work item: Users can choose Hide Tempo from the “...” menu in the panel. This is a shared setting, so if one user hides the panel, it is hidden for others. Any user can show it again, which is why it may reappear.

Please note that showing or hiding the panel isn’t recorded in the Tempo or Jira audit logs, and the panel can’t be fully disabled.
