Question
We're reviewing adoption ahead of a renewal and want to know how many users are actually using Timesheets, which users have used it, and when they last used it. Is there a report or export for this, or can Support provide it?
Answer
Tempo doesn't currently offer a usage or adoption report for Timesheets. Details such as active user counts, last access dates, or per-user usage aren't available to admins in the app or via the API, and Support can't generate them on request. If this would be useful to you, we'd encourage you to suggest it on the Ideas Portal.
In the meantime, there are a couple of ways to get a rough idea:
-
Who can use Timesheets: Access is controlled by the Tempo Timesheets Access global permission. This shows who is allowed to use the app, not who actually does. See Global Permissions.
-
Who is logging time: Run a Logged Time report grouped by user, project, or team to see who has logged time and how much. This is the closest approximation of active use. You'll need permission to view other users' worklogs for the results to be complete. See Logged Time Reports.
If you're considering reducing licenses, keep in mind that Atlassian requires a Tempo license tier that matches or exceeds your Jira license tier. Usage data alone wouldn't allow you to go below your Jira user count. See Atlassian's Marketplace licensing.
