Linking Tempo Accounts to Jira Spaces

  • Tempo Account Administrators and Account Leads can link Tempo accounts to Jira spaces.

  • This topic applies to Jira company-managed (classic) spaces. For more information on Jira team-managed (next-gen) spaces, see Enabling Tempo App Fields in Jira Team-Managed Spaces.

Tempo accounts can be linked to one or more Jira spaces so that an account can be selected from the Account dropdown when you log your time. The Account Custom field must be added first so that there is the Account dropdown available in Jira work items or the Log Time form. Only accounts that have been linked to Jira spaces will be available from this Account dropdown.

There are several ways in which you can link an account to one or more Jira spaces:

  • When you create an account, you can select the spaces to which you want to link the account. The spaces can also be included in the imported file if the accounts are created with any of the Accounts Import features.

  • In a Jira space’s Account settings. From here, you can also set the default account to be used for all work items in a Jira space- see Setting the Default Tempo Account for a Jira Space.

  • From a Tempo account's Overview - see below.

Linking to Spaces from the Tempo Account's Overview

You can link existing accounts to one or more spaces in the Account's overview. 

  1. Select Accounts in the Tempo sidebar.

  2. In the Accounts view, select the account to which you want to link Jira space.

  3. On the account's Overview, click + Add Space Link at the right and search for the space to which you want to link the account. You can link one account to multiple spaces.

  4. You can also select the Make this account global checkbox if you want to link the account to all Jira spaces in your instance. Clearing the checkbox will unlink a global account from all Jira spaces.
