Can I retrieve the worklogs from a deleted work item

Problem

Once a work item is deleted, we’re unable to retrieve any of its data, including the associated worklogs.

Solution

A possible workaround to retrieve the data is by using the Audit Log, for more info: https://help.tempo.io/timesheets/latest/audit-log

  • To do this, you need:

    • The ID of the deleted work item, and

    • The time period when the worklogs were created.

  • If you have this information, search in the Audit Log using the time period and enter the work item ID in the search field.

  • If you don’t know the work item ID, you can instead:

    • Search by the user who created the worklog, and

    • Specify the date when the worklog was created.

  • From the search results, expand the worklog details.

  • The issue label in the details will display the issue / work item ID.
