Timesheet Is Greyed Out / Not Editable

Problem

Your Timesheet view loads, but it appears greyed out and cannot be filled in or edited.

Solution

A greyed-out, non-editable Timesheet is most commonly caused by the status of the timesheet period. Here are the usual culprits.

If it happens to all/multiple users:

  • The timesheet period was closed by an Admin. A Tempo Administrator may have manually closed the period in Period Management. In this case, they will need to reopen the period before you can make changes.

  • The Scheduler closed it automatically. Closed periods lock out editing for everyone except Approvers/Team Leads. Ask your Team Lead or Approver to grant you a Grace Period so you can log/edit time even though the period is technically closed.

If it happens to just one or a few users:

  • The timesheet has already been submitted or approved. Timesheets in "Waiting for Approval" or "Approved" status cannot be edited until they are rejected or reopened.
