Tempo won’t load, shows a blank page, or shows “Something went wrong"

Problem

Tempo isn’t loading or working as expected. Common symptoms include:

  • A blank or white screen when opening Tempo

  • A “404” or “page not found” error

  • A “something went wrong” error

  • The Tempo panel not loading inside a Jira work item

  • A user who can log into Jira but can’t get into Tempo

Solution

This is usually caused by missing permissions, Tempo being blocked by the browser, network, or security software, or the base app Tempo Core not being installed. Here are some things to check:

  1. Browser: Try an incognito window or a different browser, and check that third-party cookies are allowed. Disabling browser extensions can also help rule them out.

  2. Network and security software: Ask your network administrator to check whether any of the following is blocking Tempo. This can affect one workstation or the whole network:

    1. Firewall or DNS filtering. These need to allowlist the following: *.tempo.io, *.pstmrk.it, *.atlassian-dev.net

    2. Antivirus software (for example, Kaspersky)

    3. VPN

    4. Router settings

  3. Tempo Core and permissions: If the issue is affecting all users, ask your Jira administrator to confirm that Tempo Core is installed (Jira settings > Apps > Manage apps).
