Estimate, Team, or Date fields aren't populating, or plan data won't write back to Jira

Problem

After import, estimates, team assignments, or expected start/finish dates are missing or blank in Loop — or Loop's calculated expected start/finish dates aren't appearing back in Jira.

Solution

A field mapping step was skipped, or the target Jira field isn't a compatible type for the data Loop sends.

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations, open the integration, and review field mapping.

  2. Confirm each of the following is mapped to a valid Jira field: Estimate Field, Team Field, Expected Start Date Field, Expected Finish Date Field. If a mapping was left blank, select the appropriate field.

  3. Confirm the Expected Start/Finish Date fields in Jira are date-type custom fields — not text fields or fields governed by workflow automation that could block updates. Mapping a text field or automation-controlled field can cause the sync back to Jira to silently fail.

Set up dedicated custom date fields in Jira for Loop's calculated dates before importing — rather than reusing existing fields that may have other automation attached — and map all four fields even if some feel optional. This gives the most accurate plan estimates and ensures reliable two-way data flow.
