Link is missing in the Extender in Structure

Problem

I want to add work items with a specific link in them, but I don’t see this link type in the Linked Items Extend generator.

Solution

In Jira, the names of links that appear on the Work Item Page, are based on each link direction, and the Extend generator’s select list at the top is based on the link type. To add items linked with a specific link direction, you need to do the following:

- go to Jira settings | Work Items | Work Item Linking
- search for the link direction that you need on the page (e.g. ‘is implemented by’, is parent of' etc)
- find the name of the link type that has the mentioned link direction configured in it
- select that link type in the Extend generator’s configuration, and then select the right link direction underneath.
