Building a Structure with Generators

Generators are the primary method for creating structures in Power Mode. Generators define the work items to pull into Structure from Jira and where to place them within your structure’s hierarchy. Work items pulled in by a generator will update when there are relevant changes made in Jira.

To add a generator to a structure, open the Add menu and select the generator you want to use:

  • Insert: Adds work items to the structure based on field values, a custom JQL query, or an existing agile board.

  • Extend: Adds work items related to items already in the structure using their Parent field or work links.

  • Filter: Uses a JQL query to remove work items from the structure.

  • Group: Groups work items by their Jira fields, custom fields, work item attributes, or work item links.

  • Sort: Arranges work items based on their Jira fields or formula results.

Manually adding work items

If you’re not able to create your ideal structure with generators, you can try building your structure manually.
