Gotchas to flag when advising
-
Naming overlap: Time Tracker has a report called "Timesheet", which is not the Tempo Timesheets app. Tempo's own docs also use "issue" in Time Tracker and "work item" in Timesheets.
-
Forge migration (Time Tracker): the move from Connect to Forge changed URLs (old bookmarks and emailed report links break, and
#!in report URLs becomes&), can cause Authorization Errors, resets the Jira time tracking provider back to Jira (an admin must set Time Tracker again), and requires the Log Work field in the project's field configuration or worklogs will not show. Admins cannot impersonate other users on Forge. See Changes to Expect in Time Tracker on Forge. -
Time Entry panel (Time Tracker): hidden by default on the issue until a user selects Time Entry; this cannot be changed globally or per project.
-
Time Tracker access: users without permission see an Authorization error under Apps > Time Tracker. Add their group to Auditor Groups (can view others' workloads) or Time Entry Issue Panel Groups (own workload only).
-
Time Tracker reports location after Forge: reports no longer appear under Jira Reports; use Projects > your project > More.
