Logging Your Time

  • Logging time on issues requires the Work On Issues permission for the relevant project.

  • Logging time for others requires the Log Work for Others permission for the relevant project.

  • If you delete a Jira issue, the associated worklogs are also removed.

The core function of Tempo Timesheets is to log time on Jira issues, and there are different ways to do this. No matter which method you choose, they all create a worklog (a record) of your logged time.

  • Press the w key from anywhere in Tempo or Jira to open the Log Time form.

  • Log time with a single click in My Work using Tempo automation.

  • In My Work, you can log time in several different ways in the List and Calendar views, including dragging issues from the side panel to your calendar.

  • From a Jira issue, log time in the Tempo panel.

  • Use a time tracker to automatically record time spent working on a Jira issue.

  • In the Timesheet, you can log time in different ways, including logging time for multiple days on the same Jira issue, and logging time for others.

  • Log time on the go with the Tempo Mobile App for Jira, available for iOS and Android.
