Building a Structure with Automation

With Automation, you can create dynamic structures that update when there are changes in Jira, and update Jira when you make changes in Structure.

This section will guide you through using Automation to build the entire structure. Not only is this useful, but it’s also a good example of how to create a more specialized hierarchy. If you later want to add some issues manually, you can still use Automation for parts of your structure.

Automation overview

Automation uses generators to build a structure. Generators use rules to determine what issues to pull in from Jira and where to place them within your structure.

Every time you open your structure, these generators run and check for updates or changes to the issues in your structure. This ensures your structure is always relevant and displaying the most up-to-date information.
