This article is for Tempo for Cloud.
Can Tempo raise the API rate limit for my site?
No. The Tempo Cloud API rate limit applies to all sites, and limits can't currently be raised for a specific site. The gateway limit is 5 requests per second and is applied per IP address. Integrations, migrations or scripts that run from the same IP address share this limit. If your integration or migration receives 429 (Too many requests) errors, reduce the request volume instead.
What to do when you receive 429 errors
-
Wait at least 1 second between requests and retry after a pause (maximum 3 retries).
-
Use a shorter time frame per request, such as a day or a week instead of a month.
-
Use pagination with the limit parameter.
-
Avoid bursts of requests.
If you still hit the limit, contact Tempo Support with the endpoints you call and which calls return 429, so we can recommend how to reduce requests.
