Forecasting Project Costs and Revenues

Plans in Timesheets and Capacity Planner are integrated into Financial Manager projects. Any current or future plans assigned to team members are accounted for when calculating a project's labor, cost, and revenue.

When importing Jira issues to Financial Manager projects, the related planned time is also imported. The teams' time logs and future planned time provide present costs and revenue up to the current date and future projections for the Financial Manager projects. This equips project managers with the necessary data to forecast costs and revenue into the future.

  • Financial Manager projects always use planned time for forecasting.

  • Plans created on Jira projects using Planner are not included in forecasts.

  • Capacity Planner is not required for project forecasting but provides additional flexibility to project managers, including planning time for their team members.
