Chart Templates

Save your favorite charts as templates and share them with your team. You can create:

  • Private templates that only you can see.

  • Global templates that anyone in your instance can view. Jira admins must grant the Global Template Administrator permission before you can create global templates. There are no permissions needed to view a global template.

  • Private and global categories to organize your templates.

Select Templates while editing a chart to open the list of available templates. This displays the private templates you’ve made, global templates others have created, and the example templates that come with Custom Charts.

Creating a new template

To create a new template:

  1. Open your chart in edit mode and select Templates.

  2. Select Save chart.

  3. Select the type of template to create and enter a template name.
    If you don’t have the relevant permissions, you cannot create a global template.

  4. (Optional) Set a category for the template, or select New category to create one.

  5. Select Save template.

Example templates

Custom Charts comes with a selection of example templates that you can use to quickly create charts that represent reporting best practices.

Created vs. Resolved - Past 30 Days

Line chart with segments for work items created in the past 30 days, and work items resolved in the last 30 days.

Fix Versions

Grouped bar chart that displays the status of issues in each fix version.

Issue Types

Table chart that displays a count of work items that belong to each type.

Issue Types by Project

Stacked bar chart that displays a count of work items that belong to each type in specific spaces.

Issues by Assignee

Pie chart that displays a count of work items by assignee.

JSM - Request Channel Type

Pie chart that displays a count of work items that use the JSM Request Channel Type.

JSM - Time to first response - Breached vs Not Breached

Grouped bar chart with segments for created work items, and groups for the time to first response.

Status Categories

Pie chart where each slice of the pie represents work items in selected status categories.
