What do Completed, Manual Review and Skipped mean in the Custom Charts Cloud Migration tab?

Question

After migrating Custom Charts to Jira Cloud, what do the gadget statuses in the Cloud Migration tab mean?

Answer

The statuses are in the Gadget Status Breakdown column of the Cloud Migration tab in the Custom Charts admin settings.

Completed

  • The gadget was migrated successfully. Select Completed to download the list of migrated dashboards and gadgets. A gadget can also appear under Manual Review.

Manual Review

  • The gadget was migrated but may have custom JQL or configuration that needs attention, such as Jira Data Center-specific IDs, such as custom field IDs or team IDs. JQL that uses functions from third-party apps can also behave differently on Cloud.

  • The tab shows the gadget ID, the dashboard URL, and an error message, but not the JQL itself.

  • Gadgets that need attention can show a Review Required banner until the gadget configuration is edited and saved.

  • To fix them, open each flagged dashboard, edit the gadget, and replace Data Center IDs or unsupported functions in the JQL with the Cloud equivalents. For Issue List gadgets with custom field columns, remove the column and add it again.

Skipped

  • The gadget was not migrated because the dashboard owner's account is not active on the Jira Cloud site.

  • You may want to check that the owner has logged in to the Cloud site at least once (an invitation alone is not enough), has access to the Jira app, and is active in Cloud, not only in Jira Data Center.

  • Gadgets on these dashboards can be managed with a service account or by first activating users.
