Question
I accidentally deleted a structure, or deleted permissions in some structures, or some manual adjustments were made that can’t be reverted. Is it possible to restore the structure/a previous state of structures?
Answer
You can restore Structure data from an earlier backup file that contains the relevant structures before the unwanted changes were made:
-
Find a relevant Structure backup file in your jira_home/export directly. By default, Structure is being backed up automatically on a daily basis. E.g., if the changes you want to revert were made today, you can look for yesterday’s backup.
-
Download the file, and place it in jira_dome/import
-
Go to either Restore Structure or Migrate Structure page, and import the structure/structures from the backup file. Restoring Structure overrides all existing structures with structures from the backup file, and migrating Structure allows adding selected structures from the backup file to the instance.
