Security Enhanced Hosting Environments for Time Tracker

Atlassian offers two specialized hosting environments for Time Tracker that are designed for instances that require heightened security, isolation, or regulatory compliance: Atlassian Isolated Cloud (AIC) and Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC). Both environments are fully managed by Atlassian and built to extend the innovation of Atlassian's commercial cloud to customers who cannot use it due to risk, policy, or compliance constraints.

What is Atlassian Isolated Cloud (AIC)

Atlassian Isolated Cloud is a single-tenant, dedicated virtual private cloud (VPC) environment managed by Atlassian. It is designed for customers who are concerned about the risk of data leakage or accidental exposure in a shared, multi-tenant environment. AIC is not tied to a specific compliance framework. Instead, it is built for organizations that need dedicated isolation and enhanced security beyond what commercial cloud provides.

Who AIC is For?

• Large enterprise Data Center customers who are unable to move to commercial cloud due to multi-tenancy risk

• Industries with heightened sensitivity to data exposure: financial services, technology, and critical national infrastructure (CNI)

• Healthcare and other risk-averse industries where breaches carry severe consequences

• Businesses that require customer-managed encryption, strict control over data egress/ingress, or dedicated IPs for integrations

• Businesses whose procurement or security policies mandate single-tenant cloud infrastructure

AIC Key Values

• Enhanced security through dedicated compute, storage, and networking, all isolated within a VPC

• Greater control over data egress/ingress, networking, and encryption

• Reduced risk of accidental data leakage

• Continued access to cloud innovation (automatic scaling, no manual upgrades, and continuous feature delivery) within a dedicated environment

Products and Limitations

AIC supports Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence. All Rovo and AI features are currently excluded. Some capabilities available in commercial cloud are not currently supported in AIC. To view supported apps and features, refer to Atlassian’s documentation.

What Is Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC)

Atlassian Government Cloud is a gated, multi-tenant cloud environment that is FedRAMP Moderate compliant. It is built for U.S. government agencies and the contractors that support them, for which FedRAMP Moderate compliance is a hard requirement rather than a preference.

Who AGC is For

• U.S. federal, state, and local government agencies that are modernizing away from legacy or on-premises tools

• Government customers previously stuck on Data Center because commercial cloud did not meet FedRAMP requirements

• Department of Defense organizations

• Government contractors and industry partners who need a FedRAMP-compliant environment for government-related work

AGC Key Values

• FedRAMP Moderate compliance, unblocking agencies that could not previously move to cloud

• Built on Cloud Enterprise foundations, providing modern features such as built-in automation, Atlassian Analytics, and multiple sites

• A single system of work for software development, program management, and administrative government teams

Products and Availability

AGC supports Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence. Availability is currently limited to the United States.

Key Differences Between AIC and AGC

While both environments are Atlassian-managed and designed for customers who cannot use standard commercial cloud, they solve different problems. AIC addresses isolation and data-leakage risk for large enterprises; AGC addresses regulatory compliance for U.S. government agencies and contractors. The table below summarizes the key differences.

How to Access AIC and AGC

Activation for both AIC and AGC is handled directly by Atlassian rather than through self-service sign-up. In the Atlassian Marketplace, search for and select Time Tracker, then select the applicable hosting type (AIC or AGC) from the hosting dropdown menu.
