Power BI Connector for Jira (Cloud)

Atlassian Government Cloud for Power BI Connector

Atlassian offers a specialized hosting environment called Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC), designed for instances that require heightened security and regulatory compliance. This environment is fully managed by Atlassian and built to extend the innovation of Atlassian's commercial cloud to customers who cannot use it due to risk, policy, or compliance constraints.

What Is Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC)

Atlassian Government Cloud is a gated, multi-tenant cloud environment that is FedRAMP Moderate compliant. It is built for U.S. government agencies and the contractors that support them, for which FedRAMP Moderate compliance is a hard requirement rather than a preference.

Who AGC is For

  • U.S. federal, state, and local government agencies that are modernizing away from legacy or on-premises tools

  • Government customers previously stuck on Data Center because commercial cloud did not meet FedRAMP requirements

  • Department of Defense organizations

  • Government contractors and industry partners who need a FedRAMP-compliant environment for government-related work

AGC Key Values

  • FedRAMP Moderate compliance, unblocking agencies that could not previously move to cloud

  • Built on Cloud Enterprise foundations, providing modern features such as built-in automation, Atlassian Analytics, and multiple sites

  • A single system of work for software development, program management, and administrative government teams

Products and Availability

AGC supports Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence. Availability is currently limited to the United States only. The following Tempo products are available for AGC:

  • Power BI Connector

  • Tempo Core

  • Timesheets

  • Capacity Planner

  • Financial Manager

  • Time Tracker

  • Structure

How to Access AGC

Activation for AGC is handled directly by Atlassian rather than through self-service sign-up. In the Atlassian Marketplace, search for and select the Power BI Connector, then select Atlassian Government Cloud from the hosting dropdown menu.

Alternatively, select the Regulated Sectors tab in the Marketplace menu to view a full list of apps supported for Atlassian Government Cloud.

Because of the security-sensitive nature of the AGC hosting environment and the customer qualification criteria (such as seat minimums and industry or agency status), there is no free trial option. Customers must contact Atlassian directly to be qualified and to have the application installed on their instance.

AGC Considerations

The AGC version of the app provides functionality similar to the standard version, with some differences. Review the following AGC-specific considerations when using the app.

  • API integrations - The Power BI Connector for AGC supports integrations with these apps:

  • Jira API token - Due to AGC security requirements, the AGC version of the app does not provide a Jira API token. An alternative approach is used to export the supported tables without a Jira API token. However, the following tables are not available for export:

    • User Profiles

    • Jira User Properties

  • Dashboard templates - Almost all dashboard templates are available in the AGC version of the app. The Project Helicopter View template is not available.
