BigQuery Connector for Jira (DC)

Changes to Data Source Editing

To improve security, starting with app version 9.2.1, we updated how data sources can be edited and configured. These changes apply to shared and cloned data sources. Data sources with a changed owner will be affected in a future app version.

What’s changing?

  • Shared data sources: Starting with app version 9.2.1, users a data source is shared with can no longer edit it. The original owner and Jira administrators retain the ability to edit the data source. The “Allow re-sharing this data source” option has been removed.

  • Cloned data sources: Starting with app version 9.2.1, when you clone a data source, you must provide your own BigQuery Service Account Key to complete the configuration.

  • Data sources with a changed owner: In an upcoming app version, if you change a data source's owner, the new owner will need to provide their own BigQuery Service Account Key to complete the configuration.

What do you need to do?

If you clone a data source or change its owner, add your own BigQuery Service Account Key to complete the configuration. Once the configuration is complete, you can export data using the data source.

These changes are intended to improve security by ensuring that cloned data sources and data sources with a changed owner use the appropriate service account credentials.
