Setting up Project Approvals

Project time approvers can verify and approve project time - the hours worked by team members on the project - directly in Projects or through Timesheet’s My Work section. Project time approval doesn’t impact time tracking or billing in other apps, such as Timesheets.
This allows project time approvers and team leaders to ensure that only time spent on their project is counted.
To approve project hours:
Enable Project Time Approval in Tempo Settings for the organization.
Enable it for individual Tempo projects.
Required Permissions
Jira Global Permissions:
Tempo Project Administrator - to enable Project Time Approval globally and per project
Tempo Project Roles:
Project Owner - to select project time approvers
- OR -Editor - to select project time approvers
Project Time Approvers
By default, a project owner is a project time approver. Any additional team members added to your project must have the Tempo Project Viewer permission or higher to approve time.
When a team member submits their project time for approval, the default approver is selected automatically, but the team member can submit their project time to any approver for the project.
Enable Project Time Approval for the Organization in Tempo Settings
You must first enable Project Time Approval for your organization. After it’s enabled, the option is visible and available to all projects.
Navigate to Settings.
Under the Tempo Projects section, select Project Features.
Toggle Enable Project Time Approval.
Enable Project Time Approval for Projects
If the Project Time Approval option is not visible in your project’s configuration, it must be enabled for your organization first.
In Projects, select the project for which you want to approve project hours.
Click on the Configuration tab.
In the General section, scroll down to the Project Time Approval
Toggle Project Time Approval.
A confirmation message notifies you that the feature is enabled.
Optionally, select additional project time approvers. You can also choose a different Default Approver by hovering over the approver name.
The Approvals tab in the top right is added to your Tempo project. Click the tab to access the project time approval workflow.
Disable Project Time Approval for Projects
When you disable Project Time Approval for a project or organization, approval data is no longer visible.
If Project Time Approval is disabled on the organization level, the option is not available to any project, and the Approvals tab is hidden.
