To downgrade Timesheets to an earlier version

Every version of Timesheets might include upgrade tasks to migrate data from old to new database tables or improved features. An example of this is the worklog attribute migration in Timesheets 8.0.0 and the migration in Timesheets 7.10 when Tempo Accounts is replacing the Tempo Account Manager.

When downgrading, you therefore run the risk of losing data and also potentially making future upgrades more complex, as upgrade tasks run only once.

To downgrade Timesheets to an earlier version, you need Jira System Administrators permissions:

Before you begin, choose a version of Timesheets that is compatible with your versions of the following products by consulting the compatibility table.

To uninstall Timesheets...

To uninstall Timesheets, you need Jira Administrators global permission:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.

  2. Click the gear icon at top-right and select Add-ons.

  3. Expand Timesheets in the User-installed Add-ons.

  4. Click the Uninstall button.

  5. Repeat for other Tempo add-ons that are bundled with the Tempo Timesheets (Core and Teams) if you are not using other Tempo products that depend on this module.


To install Timesheets

Before you begin, choose a compatible version of Timesheets by consulting the compatibility tableYou can get a free trial of Timesheets and replace the evaluation license with a purchased license at a later time. You can install Timesheets from within Jira by using the Universal Plugin Manager.

To install Timesheets, you need Jira System Administrators permissions:

  1. Log in as a user with the JIRA Administrators global permission.

  2. Click on the gear icon at top-right and select Add-ons.

  3. On the left sidebar, click on Find new add-ons.

  4. Search for Timesheets with the Search the Marketplace field.

  5. In the 'Timesheets for JIRA' section, click Free trial or Buy now, and follow the instructions to download Timesheets.

Jira's Universal Plugin Manager can automatically select the latest version of Timesheets that is compatible with your versions of Jira, Jira Agile, and Planner by Tempo. Alternatively, you can choose an earlier version of Tempo Planner to install from the Atlassian marketplace.

Please note that if you upgrade your Jira version, your Tempo Timesheet version might not be compatible with the upgraded version.
