Submitting Timesheets for Approval
Submitting timesheets for your team members requires the Manage Team or Approve Timesheets permission for the team.
At the end of a timesheet approval period, when you have completed the required workload and logged time, you can submit your timesheet to a reviewer, typically the Team Lead. When a period finishes, the period status changes to Ready to Submit in My Work. Selecting a reviewer for a timesheet will automatically send an email to the reviewer asking them to approve or reject the timesheet.
Once you have submitted your timesheet, you can no longer create or edit worklogs in the submitted period unless your timesheet is reopened.
To submit your own timesheet for approval:
Select My Work in the Tempo sidebar.
Click Submit Period at the top to submit the current period's timesheet, or click the drop-down arrow to select an earlier period.
Select a Reviewer from the drop-down list. Reviewers include any Team Lead for a team where you are a member, or a person who has the Approve Timesheets permission.
If you have Financial Manager with Project Time Approval enabled, you may also need to select a reviewer for your project time.
You can select only one reviewer, but any team member with the appropriate permission can approve your timesheet.
Optionally, you can add a comment for the reviewer.
If you are submitting project time for approval, the comment is sent to all reviewers.Click Submit. The period status changes to Waiting for approval.
You must be a member of a team to submit your timesheet for approval and must select a Reviewer when submitting your timesheet.
If you are a member of multiple teams, you may have the option to choose from a number of Reviewers, but only one can approve your timesheet. The hours displayed on your timesheet will represent all of the time you logged during that period, not just the hours associated with one team.
Team Leads cannot approve their own timesheet.
If there are no Reviewers available in the drop-down list, you will need to be added to a team with an approver, or add an approver to your team by granting them the Approve Timesheets permission.
Submitting Timesheets for Team Members
As Team Lead, you can submit timesheets for your team members. You may want to do this if they can't submit it themselves before the end of the approval period, such as if they're sick or on vacation. You can submit timesheets in the Teams view, or directly in the user's timesheet in My Work.
To submit timesheets in the Teams view:
Select Teams in the Tempo sidebar.
Select the team for which you wish to submit the timesheet.
Click Approvals at the upper right.
You can submit any timesheets that are Ready to Submit or Open.
To submit a timesheet for a single team member, click Submit next to the relevant team member's name.
To submit timesheets for multiple team members, select the check-boxes next to the team members whose timesheets you want to submit, and then click Submit at the top.
To submit all timesheets that are Ready to Submit or Open, select the check box at the top-left, then click Submit at the top.
Team leads (or others with the Manage Team permission) can submit timesheets for their team members for any period in this Teams - Approvals view.
If you submit timesheets for multiple team members, and those team members also have project time open for approval, the default project time reviewer is selected. If you need to change the default reviewer, you must submit the timesheet individually.
To submit an individual team member's timesheet in My Work:
Select My Work in the Tempo sidebar.
Click Timesheet at the upper-right to display the Timesheet view.
Click the drop-down arrow next to your name to display an editable field and drop-down.
Type the name of the team member whose timesheet you want to submit.
Click the Submit Last Period drop-down at the top of the user timesheet. Click Show more to view the previous timesheet periods.
Click Submit for the timesheet to be submitted.
To quickly return to your own timesheet view, you can simply click My Work in the sidebar again.
