How do I export "time in each status" for issues in Tableau Connector for Jira?

I want to see how long each Jira issue has spent in each status using Tableau Connector for Jira, but I don't see this data even with all visible field options selected. What am I missing?

Answer

This data is available, but it requires adding a few specific items to your data source rather than being included by default:

  1. Add the status field to the History fields selection.

  2. Add the Histories table to your data source.

  3. Add the Time in Status table to your data source.

Together, these give you the full picture: which status each issue moved through, when, and how long it spent in each one — everything needed to build a time-in-status report or visualization in Tableau.
