How do I prepare Custom Charts for Jira migration and data residency changes?

Scenario: Jira Data Center to Cloud migration

As an administrator, you can prepare Custom Charts for Jira Data Center to Cloud migration as follows:

1. Upgrade Custom Charts for Jira Data Center to the latest available version.

2. Rerun the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant pre-migration check. An outdated app version can trigger a warning that the app is not registered for migration notifications. Keeping Jira Data Center in Read-Only mode during migration should not affect Custom Charts migration.

Scenario: Moving Custom Charts data residency to Europe

Custom Charts data residency is managed separately from Jira’s residency. As an administrator, you can pin Custom Charts data to Europe as follows:

1. Go to Settings > Marketplace apps > Custom Charts – Settings > Features > Turn on Data Residency.

2. Open the Data Residency tab > Select Europe > Click Pin Custom Charts Region.

This setting covers Custom Charts global app settings, configurations, and configured permissions. It does not change Jira’s data residency.
