Submitting Timesheets for Approval

Abstract

How to submit Tempo timesheets for approval -- for yourself or a team member

Important

Submitting timesheets for your team members requires the Manage Team or Approve Timesheets permission for the team.

At the end of a period, when you have completed the required workload and logged time, you can submit your timesheet to a reviewer, typically the Team Lead. When a period finishes, the period status changes to Ready to Submit. Selecting a reviewer for a timesheet will automatically send an email to the reviewer asking them to approve or reject the timesheet.

Note

Once you have submitted your timesheet, you can no longer create or edit worklogs in the submitted period.

To submit your own timesheet for approval:

  1. Select My Work My_Work__1_.jpg in the Tempo sidebar.

  2. Click Submit Period at the top to submit the current period's timesheet, or click the drop-down arrow to select an earlier period.

  3. Select a Reviewer from the drop-down list. Reviewers include any Team Lead for a team where you are a member, or a person who has the Approve Timesheets permission.

  4. Optionally, you can add a comment for the reviewer.

  5. Click Submit. The period status changes to Waiting for approval.

Note

  • You must be a member of a team to submit your timesheet for approval and must select a Reviewer when submitting your timesheet.

  • If you are a member of multiple teams, you may have the option to choose from a number of Reviewers. The hours displayed on your timesheet will represent all of the time you logged during that period, not just the hours associated with one team.

  •  Team Leads cannot approve their own timesheet.

  • If there are no Reviewers available in the drop-down list, you will need to be added to a team with an approver, or add an approver to your team by granting them the Approve Timesheets permission.

  • You can only submit timesheets for your current period or the two past periods. You must have Manage Team permissions to submit timesheets for periods prior to that time.

Submitting Timesheets for Team Members
